Workshop Session 5D: Workshop: The Importance of Advocacy in the P3 space

Telling the story of how P3s can help governments across Canada is of increasing importance to grow the pipeline of projects and to counter persistent myths and misunderstandings of the ‘made in Canada’ model. Recently, The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships has embarked on a series of important efforts with its members to advocate to government on issues such as federal taxation changes (EIFEL) and speaking directly with elected officials and civil servants about P3s en masse. This workshop will explore these efforts, new initiatives and provide a sounding board for delegates to provide their thoughts on what is needed to bolster their business. This workshop is for delegates interested in government affairs, business development and communications.

Facilitator:

  • Michelle Coates Mather, Head, Policy and Public Affairs, The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships
